Welcome to zCloak Network’s newsletters for February and happy Chinese New Year. During the last month, the zCloak R&D team has been busy with product restructuring and technology exploration. Great progress has been achieved. Let’s briefly go through all of them. FYI, this series of monthly newsletters is dedicated to keeping our community members up to date, so please follow us and stay tuned for more information!

Product and Technology

Chain abstraction based zk-coprocessor

Early this year, the zCloak team released a mini-game demo to showcase its capability of providing chain abstraction-based ZKP. The demo is accessible at: https://zkmaze.zkid.app and here is a breakdown of its internals.

  1. Users execute a zk-Program locally in their browser, such as computing their credit score, verifying KYC status, or in the case of this game, generating proof of finding the exit of a maze. This process keeps their data private while confirming they meet certain criteria or possess particular attributes.
  2. The locally generated STARK proof is sent to the zCloak verifier canister on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) for verification. The efficiency and low cost of this process on ICP stand out compared to performing the same task on an EVM chain.
  3. Upon successful verification, the verifier canister signs the result using tECDSA. This verified result can then be shared across various blockchain platforms, including EVM chains, Solana, and Sui, as long as they can verify the ECDSA signature.

This approach establishes a blockchain-agnostic ZKP infrastructure on ICP, allowing for seamless integration and verification across different blockchain networks. This infrastructure can do all sorts of heavy lifting work for EVM chains and return the computation result in a trustless way via a tECDSA-signed message, effectively serving as a coprocessor.

The zCloak team believes this is a powerful new pattern for the Web3 industry and we will keep building new apps based on this approach.

Events

Lunar New Year Giveaway

Feb 5 to Feb 19, hosted by MetaTdex and DeBox, the Lunar New Year Giveaway was successfully launched. zCloak Network participated as a partner. According to the final data, an estimated more than 3000 people were involved in this festival. During the event, great brand exposure was achieved, and wonderful holiday joy was spread.
