zCloak Network Partners with Scroll to Provide a Privacy-Preserving Identity Service on Ethereum Layer 2
zCloak Network announced that it will work with Scroll to provide a privacy-preserving identity service on Ethereum L2 for Scroll users. The partnership will focus on bringing a W3C compatible DID and Verifiable Credential platform on Scroll’s L2 architecture. The collaboration will also include an exploration of call data cost optimization and general research on zk-STARK/zk-SNARK technology, etc.
Scroll is a native zkEVM layer 2 solution for the Ethereum blockchain, aiming to scale Ethereum with cutting-edge research and technology. With zkEVM to prove the correctness of EVM execution in Layer2 and the building of a complete L2 architecture around it, Scroll is providing a full zkRollup solution on Ethereum. Additionally, if Scroll provides its users with a full suite of DID and Verifiable Credential service, there will be more possibilities of use cases explored and better interaction on Scroll’s L2 structure with less friction.
zCloak Network can provide Scroll with such DID and Verifiable Credential services with its zkID.app product and related SDK. zkID.app helps users to establish their own DID on Scroll, and this decentralized identity will function as an avatar of an entity in cyberspace, and their real-world identity data will be linked to it in a privacy-preserving way, stored on user’s local devices through browser extension.
